The Trinity

In The Trinity, Donald Fairbairn writes about this essential and central aspect of the gospel.

The book begins by showing us the major clues throughout Scripture regarding the nature of the Trinity: God (Genesis 1:1), the Spirit (Genesis 1:2), and the Word (John 1:1).

Fairbairn explains how the Father, the Spirit, and the Word (Jesus, the Son) are truly persons, and how these three persons constitute a single God. He then shows us how God sent the Son and the Spirit in unique ways to accomplish salvation.

The Trinity at Work

I was most moved to read how we become daughters and sons of God by adoption—through God sending His Son into the world—and how the Holy Spirit enters our hearts, enabling us to call God “Father.” I was amazed to see the Trinity at work in one of my favorite doctrines.

Interestingly, I saw how the Trinity gives us new life—something that connected wonderfully with Peter Mead’s book in the same series, titled The New Birth.

This short book will help you better grasp the Trinity and stir your heart to worship.
